On Sunday 9th of November we made thr first descent through Fontanon del Tasseit on Lago di Selva (David Sefaj, Matic Udir, Grega Maffi, Georg Buol and Robert Žerovec). Probably the hardest accessible canyon in entire region of Friuli. We spend 2 days, one day to reach the area and carrying the equipment almost to the top of the canyon and second day to have reached the source of the Fontanon and explored the canyon. we equiped the canyon sufficint with 10mm bolts with rings and chains. The highest waterfall is 75 meters high and the highest jump is 13 meters. Grande Course and not for the instant canyoneers.

Fontanon del Tasseit – (Rug de Tasseit)
On 8th of November 2015 we made the first descent through Fontanon del Tasseit. Fontanon del Tasseit is a very wild, long and steep canyon, located in one of the most remote and isolated places throughout northern Italy, on the end of the Selva lake (Lago di Selva) in Tramonti. Strong creek source from the underground cave (Risorgiva del Randonneur) on the south face of the mountain Dosaip. This canyon is probably the hardest accessible in the Friuli region. The first part is the most beautiful and really vertical with the highest waterfall which is 75 meters high and almost without walking. This part is sometimes very narrow and you need to rappel into the water jet. The most stunning place is on the ledge with deep green pool, between 45 meters and 75 meters high waterfalls. The second part after confluence is a little bit discontinues but with some nice jumps up to 13 meters. Very hard, exposed access, no exit in the first part and sometimes extremely exposed and hard to reach rappels mean that this is the canyon for the true adventurers.

The story:
This is the story of Fontanon del Tasseit, the story of a dream that has become reality. This is also a story of beauty, passion, effort, sweat and happiness. A lot of water has flown through this wild gorge since I first saw it from a distance and a lot of dreams I dreamed that have become a reality. There are not many people from the current times who laid eyes on Fontanon, even less of those who saw his birth. This is no longer an image of dreams.
Fontanon is located in one of the most remote and isolated places throughout northern Italy. It is a place where stone roofs of ancient houses rise from lakes, where the night sky is different, because it is not contaminated with artificial light, where the mountains are still wild and almost with no paths and this is the place where the real masters are still wild animals. It is a place where you don’t need a mobile phone (no signal) and can count only on yourself and your friends.
It is hard to imagine the feeling when you see it for the first time up close, where it is born from the underground world, and begins to descend through the green moss and when you sit on the edge of a deep green pool between the high waterfalls. Here you can only be happy surrounded by drops and rainbows.
Sometimes it's a very small step from hell to heaven. But in your heart you should know whether you deserve to see places like Fontanon. Maybe the master of those mountains will not allow your passage through this place.

Thanks Davidov for this report, can you report us the mains features of the canyon ? I mean number of jumps/rappels, entrance & exit height, length, approaching time and so on.. ?
